To make at least part of the North Run work for me to go on again this year, I once again ended up travelling with Miss Rodeo Canada – which, as I expected, was a lot of fun. For this year’s trip, Jayden had plans to go to Dawson Creek after attending La Crete’s Stampede instead of heading back south.
Crossing on the Peace River Ferry and then watching the social media stories of everyone else doing the same throughout the Thursday was a ton of fun. As many rodeo people may know, travelling with someone else meant some strategic planning for attending events, so I ended up getting to take in some of the other events as a spectator, including the Chuckwagons – I was pretty confident that Shelly Scott would get some amazing shots for the drivers, so left the cameras packed up after the rodeo, knowing how many photos I already had waiting to be gone through on my hard drives. Although watching the sun set behind the wagons did give me some inspiration for the future.
This trip was one I definitely won’t forget for quite a while – a special thanks to the guys who waited for the event to be done so that I could get back south for my next event in Southern Sask on the Monday. Check out some of the highlights through the gallery link here:
